integral part of the immigration debate.
We have engaged in protests, demonstrations
and boycotts. While these visible
street activities are an important, some of the most effective results by
Minutemen are being achieved through involvement in other areas of the
political process. Minutemen have participated in local
government affairs, forums and panel discussions. We have been on TV, radio and in the
print media. We have had our voices
heard in our State Legislatures.
Minutemen have run for political
office. It is undeniable that Minutemen are having success informing the public
and influencing our representatives. Minutemen have encountered strong
resistance at our left-leaning colleges
and universities. Minutemen founders, Jim
Gilchrist and Chris Simcox, have delivered speeches
across the on over 20 campuses. For all the talk of free speech, it is at
universities where Minutemen have been stifled in their
attempt to explain our position. There
have been physical attacks. Protestors
have employed a variety of tactics to prevent
free speech; setting off fire alarms, coordinated cell phone ringing,
shouting and rudeness. Illegal immigration supporters realize
that facts and exposure is their
greatest enemy. Minutemen
represent a threat to their
agenda when we exercise our First Amendment rights. HATE
